The Villa Savoye in Poissy France is a modernist design classic that was completed in 1931.

The house was designed as a country retreat by Swiss born, Parisian avant-garde artist and architect Charles-Édouard Jeanneret (1887-1965) – better known as Le Corbusier.

This residence illustrates Le Corbusier’s five points of a new architecture which he formulated in 1927 as fundamental principles for the Modern movement. The five points advocated  reinforced concrete for constructing the pilotis, roof garden, open plan design, horizontal windows and free design of the façade

The residence was listed as a historic monument in 1964 and is open to the public every day except Mondays. Want to wander around the property in Google maps? Click here.
